About Bowling Green Chacón Language and Science Academy

Overview

In 1993, Bowling Green Charter School took the opportunity to become one of the first charter schools in the country, one that would best serve our community in South Sacramento. We are proud to continue our legacy as a small, dependent public charter school within SCUSD. Bowling Green Charter School comprises two small learning communities, Chacon Language and Science Academy being one of them.

Chacon Language and Science Academy is a K-6 school, offering our families and students the choice of two programs. Students may enroll in our 90/10 Spanish Dual Immersion program, with a goal of fluency in both Spanish and English by the end of 6th grade. We also offer our English-Only program, where students of all languages will be taught in English. In both programs, students will have a strong focus on Science, supported by hands-on investigations.

We have long established partnerships with CSU Sacramento and Sierra Nevada Journeys. Our IEP students experience a “Push-In” Special Education program to best support their learning within their general education classrooms. Chacon offers students arts instruction weekly, as well as through local agencies on site after school. We provide Multi-Tiered supports, including a full-time social worker and instructional aides in every classroom to support instruction.

We would be honored to partner with you in your child’s education.
